    Your very own SLI:ME (Slime) is more than just a cool name. This kind of slime emphasizes the ‘ME’ in slime! from A to Z, YOU choose everything to create your own slime! What will your ‘ME’ Slime be? Have fun, explore and create your own styles! Then, test out other friends’ slimes!

    You don’t need to bring your phone or camera to take a photo! The sun can be your camera! Join us to find objects with unique shapes or edges and arrange them on a sheet of special paper. Then, let the sun copy whatever you place on the paper into a sun copy piece of art!

    Bojagi Making

    Do you ever wonder about Korean art styles? Bojagi is one style. It’s typically a square shape made out of traditional Korean wrapping cloth in silk or ramie material. Bojagi has many uses, such as gift wrapping, weddings, and decoration. Bojagi has been recognized as a traditional art form. Come and design your Bojagi by assembling little pieces of Korean traditional fabric.

    What does your community look like? What’s your favorite part of your neighborhood? Where do we live, hang out, and work? Explore recycling materials and use your imagination to create three dimensional buildings, parks, and anything you would like to add to your community. Join us by rebuilding Washington Square Park with your imagination.

    Transforming in Square

    Saturday, October 8 / October 15, 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

    How many new shapes do you think can be created from a square? Learn and experience artwork by an artist, Lygia Pape, an artist who created 365 unique geometric tiles. Each tile represents an unassigned day in the calendar year. Join us to learn how Lygia Pape cut, rearranged, reattached, and painted in primary colors from a square slab of wood.

    Spark Curiosity

    Saturday, June 25 / July 9, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

    Inspired by the books Wonder Walkers by Micha Archer and If... by Sarah Perry, families will write and illustrate their own stories about everything they wonder! The stories will be bound together to form a community compilation.

    Color of Water

    Saturday, July 23 / August 6, 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
    Washington Square Park,

    Water has hues of blue, green, and more. Paint a mini canvas of what water looks like to you and then add it to the community mural (featuring Jabari from Jabari Jumps by Gaia Cornwall) that will be on display at the Hudson Park Library.

    Cans for the Community

    Saturday, September 10, 17, 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
    Washington Square Park,

    In appreciation for community helpers, families will decorate trash cans together to be donated around the neighborhood. Just like Mr. Gilly in Trashy Town by Andrea Zimmerman, David Clemesha, and Dan Yaccarino, families will help keep the community clean!
